The Blackstar Series One S1-50 head expands Blackstar’s ever popular flagship Series One line by offering a medium-powered amp in head format. The S1-50 head has 2 channels and 4 footswitchable modes so you don’t lack any tonal flexibility – as was always the case with Series One amps. The S1-50 is ideal for those doing medium to large gigs who need versatile tones at their fingertips. If you were worried about having to lug the S1-45 2×12 around, the S1-50 head and matching S1-212 Cabinet could be the answer.
By switching both preamplifier and power amplifier parameters the Series One 50W delivers both Class A style tones with a bell-like ring and classic push-pull crunch depending on the mode selected. The ISF control removes the limitations of traditional designs allowing you to tune the tone to exactly the sound you are looking for. DPR can reduce the power down to 5W and MIDI switching and a series effects loop make this the ultimate pro head.
ISF Feature
The patented ISF control works with the Bass, Middle and Treble controls to give you access to infinite new sound possibilities from the USA to the UK and everywhere in-between. This fully interactive control allows you to infinitely adjust the response of the tone control network between any of the traditional voicings. In this way you can design your own sound and truly find the sound in your head.
Midi Control
The Series One offers the ability to control channel selection via MIDI Program Change messages and interfacing with most MIDI controllers is a straight forward process. The Series One can be placed in a MIDI chain allowing you to simultaneously select a channel on the amplifier and change the patch on a MIDI effects processor connected to the effects loop. There are 128 available Program Changes, giving you the possibility to access a vast number of tonal combinations.
