Sigma DMC-STE Acoustic Guitar
The timeless dreadnought acoustic body shape is faithfully reproduced on the DMC-STE, which produces all the big acoustic sound you would expect of this larger body shape. The cutaway is a handy feature, especially if you're planning to play further up the neck, allowing easy access to all the upper frets. In terms of tone, it doesn't get better than the classic combination of spruce top with mahogany back and sides, while the solid top means that however good it sounds now, once broken in it will sound even better. The cherry on top is the built in Fishman pre-amp and pickup, facilitating easy amplification by simply plugging it in! No need to buy a tuner either, as this system has one built in.
Aesthetically, we are pleased to say that with this is one instrument which prioritises function! The aesthetic is paired back, and we happen to like it like that. Pleasingly, the unbound top allows you to see the full grain of the solid spruce soundboard around the edge. The matt finish won't show fingerprints as easily as a gloss finished instrument, and some even feel that it has additional tonal qualities over gloss. Another feature we love with the DMC-STE (and all Sigma guitars) is the use of bone instead of cheaper plastic for the nut and saddle, not immediately evident to the eye, but worth it for the improved response and resonance transfer from the high quality D'Addario EXP16 strings to the body.
